As we reach the end of the financial year, we have completed our Volume 6 series. We produced 11 VCAT editorials and 7 PPV editorials. Noteworthy cases in VCAT Vol 6 No 11 on different outcomes on additional gaming machines in two RSL venues in neighbouring municipalities; Tribunal’s reluctance to award costs in challenges to existing permits; whether a landfill EPA license should be suspended; and whether outdoor recreation facility at a government school site is exempt from the P&E Act. Noteworthy reports in PPV Vol 6 No 7 on Johnston Street East mid-rise vision; a DCP for Yarra; planning for Latrobe’s uncertain future; and applying the EAO in Portland’s industrial precinct. We look forward to finalising the annual updates to the GPAs and GPPs and commencing our volume 7 series from July 2019.
