At VCAT Volume 6 No 1 we commented on the recycling plant at Lara that is subject to enforcement proceedings due to non-compliance of the permit (see Greater Geelong CC v C & D Recycling Pty Ltd (Red Dot)  VCAT 831 ). There are major concerns with amenity, contamination and risk of fire. Greater Geelong City Council, the EPA and CFA all are involved in addressing the issues. The Tribunal concluded that it was resigned to finding the least worst option in making its orders.

It would appear that there is a lot of water to go under the bridge before the issues are to be resolved to an acceptable manner.
